NAWBO-SA September Membership Lunch Meeting
Topic: "Is There Such a Thing as
Work/Life Balance?"
Despite today's economy forcing women
business owners to spend extra hours at work to keep
their company afloat, entrepreneurial women can find
a balance between their work and home lives.
To help women have it all, the NAWBO-SA chapter
is hosting Lorin Bellar Blake, founder and CEO of Big
Fish Nation (a business development program
geared to woman business owners), to inspire San
Antonio business women to mix it up, change the
rules, get out of their boxes and recreate success like
never before.
At NAWBO San Antonio's September chapter
luncheon, Blake will discuss seven secrets to
surviving well and naturally creating work-life balance
by growing self-confidence, taking bold actions and
becoming committed to being your best self.

BREAKFAST AND LUNCH MEEETINGS:
NAWBO-SA has a new location for its monthly
breakfast and lunch meetings. The new location is
Oak Hills Country Club at
5403 Fredericksburg Road.
AIOHOŽ SCHOOL LIAISON KICKOFF:
AIOHO'sŽ School Liaison Kickoff will be held on
Tuesday, September 8. NAWBO members will meet
wtih new and returning school liaisons to develop
relationships and communicate the excitement of the

AN INCOME OF HER OWNŽ KICKS OFF ITS
TENTH YEAR
Come celebrate with us as AIOHOŽ scholarship
winners are recognized at the Silver Stars last
regularly scheduled game on Saturday, September
12th at 7 pm. AIOHOŽ is hosting NAWBO-SA Night
free for NAWBO-SA members and corporate partners.
Meet pre-game in the Terrace Restaurant. Enjoy
camaraderie with each other and AIOHOŽ teens
during the game as we see NAWBO-SA highlighted
on the big boards and root for the home team in a

MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH AIOHOŽ
Are you looking to encourage high school teen
women to stay in school, go to college, dream of
entrepreneurship? Join An Income of Her OwnŽ
which kicks off this month. AIOHOŽ is NAWBO-SA's
nonprofit program that provides high school teen
women college scholarships based on business
plans they craft with help from women like you. The
nine-month program allows for many levels of time
commitment. Check out the volunteer
opportunities.
AIOHOŽ GAINS NATIONAL RECOGNITION
We knew AIOHOŽ was doing great things to
inspire teen women. Now AIOHOŽ is garnering
national praise! NAWBOŽ's national HQ singles out
San Antonio's An Income of Her OwnŽ program for
high school teen women - mostly in inner city
schools - as one of the best practices among

LUNCH CONNECTION:
The next Lunch Connection is Wednesday,
September 9, at Swede's Restaurant (2211 NW
Military, at the corner of West Avenue) from
11:30 am-1:00 pm. Meet and greet fellow business
owners and corporate partners; share information
about your products and services over lunch! Be sure
to bring lots of business cards. RSVPs are required;

2009 Women's Business Enterprise Star award, the
nation's premier award for excellence among women-
owned businesses. Torcasio's clients call her
the "Go-To-Broker" because of her ability to leverage
market trends.
