Results of NAWBO-SA Election Announced by Nominating Committee

 

The Nominating Committee has announced the results of the annual election of officers. Madeline Anz Slay of Madeline Anz Slay Architecture, PLLC has been elected as the President-Elect for 2009-2010. Congratulations Madeline!

Madeline will serve a one year term as President- Elect, followed by a one year term as President and a one year term as Immediate Past-President. The new officers and board members will take office at the annual meeting, the Leadership and Partner Gala, on June 17th.

NAWBO LEADERSHIP AND PARTNER GALA:
Join us on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 for the NAWBO-SA Leadership and Partner Gala. We will celebrate the new fiscal year with the theme "To Grow. To Reach. To Rise. Together."

MEMBER ADVERTISING ON NAWBO-SA WEBSITE: Members have an opportunity to place an advertisement on NAWBO-SA's website - www.nawbosa.org - on the Business Directory page, accessible to all visitors to the website. Your advertisement will be one of five banner ads displayed at one time for a minimum three month term. The introductory rate is $25 per month. SPECIAL ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY WITH SA BUSINESS JOURNAL:
The San Antonio Business Journal is offering a special advertising opportunity to the San Antonio NAWBO organization and its members. Published monthly in the classified section of the Business Journal and in the annual Book of Lists, your ad of 3.1875" wide by 2" tall can be included with up to 15 spaces for member and NAWBO ads for a cost per issue of $150.

Advertisers commit to a 13x agreement and will be included in the NAWBO page once a month for one year. The design services of the Business Journal are available at no additional charge for your ad.

TEXAS CONFERENCE FOR WOMEN: SMALL BUSINESS CONTEST:
Do you know a small woman-owned business in Texas that's taking great strides while reducing its carbon footprint?

The Texas Conference for Women's "Boost Your Business by Going Green" contest invites women owned small businesses based in Texas to submit innovative ways they're making a positive impact on the environment. Three winners will receive $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000 worth of energy-efficient HP technology equipment.

Details on how to enter and eligibility requirements can be found here. Deadline for entering the contest is June 30, 2009. Winners will be announced at the 2009 Texas Conference for Women on November 12 in Houston.

The Texas Conference for Women, now celebrating its tenth year, is the state's premiere education and networking event for women. FIRST ANNUAL WOMEN'S BUSINESS SYMPOSIUM:
The South Texas Women's Business Center (STWBC) and title sponsors are proud to present the first Annual Women's Business Symposium which features the first annual business plan competition and Marketplace EXPO. The symposium is to celebrate women entrepreneurship and women's equality day. It will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Norris Conference Center, and the theme is "Gearing for Success. Growing Your Business."

THE PRINCIPAL FINANCIAL GROUP'S WOMEN IN BUSINESS JUNE TELECLASS:
The Principal Financial Group is offering a free series of teleclasses given by high-profile women in business. SEMINAR SERIES:
The Procurement Technical Assistance Center and the South Texas Women's Business Center have designed a series of seminars (6) for women business owners. SAN ANTONIO SCORE:
The San Antonio SCORE Chapter 164 "Counselors to America's Small Business" is part of a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth, and success of the nation's small businesses. SCORE provides workshops for a nominal charge for "start ups," business plans and financial statements. An upcoming workshop is "Using Financial Statements to Manage Your Business" (June 25).
