advertisement on NAWBO-SA's website -

accessible to all visitors to the website. Your
advertisement will be one of five banner ads displayed
at one time for a minimum three month term. The
introductory rate is $25 per month. To get additional

special advertising opportunity to the San Antonio
NAWBO organization and its members. Published
monthly in the classified section of the Business

Cozumel Chapter will host the "Mayan Networking
Business Conference" on July 10th and 11th in
Cozumel.

ATHENA AWARD CALL FOR
NOMINATIONS:
Nominations are open until Friday, July 17, for the
North Chamber ATHENA Award. The ATHENA Award
honors individuals who strive toward the highest
levels of personal and professional accomplishment,
who excel in their chosen field, devote time and
energy to their community in a meaningful way and
forge paths of leadershp for other women to follow.

STWBC BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION:
The South Texas Women's Business Center
(STWBC) and Capital One are hosting a business
plan competition with the winner to be announced at
the STWBC Women's Business Symposium on
August 28, 2009. The symposium is to celebrate
women entrepreneurship and women's equality day. It
will be held at the Norris Conference Center, and the
theme is "Gearing for Success. Growing Your
Business."
Below are the details regarding the business
plan competition:
- Entry deadline is August 1, 2009
- Semifinalists will be highlighted in newsletter
and other media outlets
- Finalists will be voted on by the audience on
August 28th, and the winner will receive a $5,000 prize
(cash and services combined - i.e., web redesign, an
ad in NSIDE magazine, etc.)

SEMINAR SERIES:
The Procurement Technical Assistance Center
and the South Texas Women's Business Center have
designed a series of seminars (6) for women
business owners. The courses feature expert guest
speakers so you can delve into real small business
issues. The next seminar is on August 19, and the
topic is "Building Strategic Business Alliances." The

SAN ANTONIO SCORE:
The San Antonio SCORE Chapter
164 "Counselors to America's Small Business" is part
of a national nonprofit association dedicated to
entrepreneur education and the formation, growth,
and success of the nation's small businesses.

for "start ups," business plans and financial
statements. An upcoming workshop is "Your
