STWBC BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION:
The South Texas Women's Business Center
(STWBC) and Capital One are hosting a business
plan competition with the winner to be announced at
the STWBC Women's Business Symposium on
August 28, 2009. The symposium is to celebrate
women entrepreneurship and women's equality day. It
will be held at the Norris Conference Center, and the
theme is "Gearing for Success. Growing Your
Business."
Below are the details regarding the business
plan competition:
- Entry deadline is Monday, August 3, 2009
- Businesses must be 51 percent woman owned, in
business for at least six months and revenues can not
exceed $250,000
- Finalists will be voted on by the audience on
August 28th, and the winner will receive a $5,000 prize
(cash and services combined - i.e., web redesign, an
ad in NSIDE magazine, etc.)

AUGUST "CAN WE TALK" EVENT:
"Can We Talk" is a coalition of over sixty-five
women's organizations in San Antonio. On Tuesday,
August 25, the orginal founding organizations of "Can
We Talk" will be hosting the 25th anniversary
celebration of "Can We Talk!" This month's event
will also celebrate Women's Equality Day and Texas
Women's Independence Day.
